Yes. Creating an account and using video matching does not cost anything.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Calls run in your mobile or desktop browser over WebRTC.

No. Media travels directly between the two browsers and is not recorded by TrueVibe. Screenshotting or recording another member is against the community guidelines.

What happens when I skip someone?

You both return to the queue and the matcher will not pair you with each other again for six hours.

Why will my call not connect on office or campus Wi-Fi?

Some strict networks block direct peer connections. A relay server is required to get through those, and it is the one part of the call path still being rolled out.

What is random video chat?

A live one-to-one video conversation with a person the platform picks for you, rather than someone you searched for. On TrueVibe the pick is not blind: the queue scores candidates on shared interests, language, intention and recent skips before it connects you.

How a match is made

When you tap start, you join a live queue with the preferences you set. The matcher scores everyone waiting and connects the closest fit rather than the first free person.

Shared interests and tags carry the most weight in the score
Language and intention — friends, dating, networking, community — are respected
People you skipped are excluded from your queue for six hours
People you blocked are never returned, in either direction
Waiting time is factored in, so nobody sits in the queue indefinitely

The call itself

Video and audio travel directly between the two browsers over an encrypted peer connection. TrueVibe's servers coordinate the handshake and then step out of the media path.
